Throw Accused stays behind bars - The Daily Telegraph; Surry Hills, N.S.W. [Surry Hills, N.S.W] 22 J

A MAN accused throwing a woman off a balcony, leaving her with bone fractures on Sunday, did not apply for bail when he appeared in court yesterday.

Appearing via videolink. Jimm Wallace Kihara faced one charge of attempted murder in Central Local Court yesterday.

“Thanks your honour,” was all he said when Magistrate Robert Williams told him he could head back to the cells.

Defence lawyer Sebastian De Brennan didn’t apply for bail and the matter was adjourned to March 19.

The 45-year-old Kihara was arrested on Sunday after police were called to a Redfern unit block about 9.25pm following reports a woman had been thrown from a first-floor balcony. The 39-year-old woman suffered bone fractures and was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. While police were investigating another man, alleged to be Jeremy Little, attacked police car with a cricket bat. Little appeared via videolink was released on bail. He is due to return to court on February 4.
